What you'll need

  • 1 x 50g ball of DK yarn
  • A pair of 4mm (UK 8 / US 6) knitting needles
  • A wool/darning needle

Step-by-step instructions

1. Cast on (make 2)

  1. 1Cast on 36 stitches with 4mm needles.

2. Rib

  1. 1Work in k2, p2 rib for 18cm (or your desired length from wrist to mid-forearm).

3. Cast off and seam

  1. 1Cast off in rib. Sew the side seam leaving a 4cm gap for the thumb about 5cm from the cast-on edge.
  2. 2Weave in all ends. Make the second warmer.

Top tip: Leave the thumb hole as-is, or pick up stitches around it and work 3-4 rounds of rib for a neat finish.
