Step-by-step instructions

1. Knit the sides (make 2)

  1. 1Cast on 48 stitches with 4mm needles.
  2. 2Work in k2, p2 rib for 4cm.
  3. 3Continue in stocking stitch until the piece measures 16cm from the cast-on.

2. Shape the top

  1. 1Row 1: *k4, k2tog* to end. Continue decreasing every other row until 8 stitches remain.
  2. 2Thread yarn through remaining stitches and pull tight.

3. Assemble

  1. 1Sew the two pieces together, leaving gaps for the handle and spout.
  2. 2Make a small pom-pom or bobble for the top. Weave in all ends.

Top tip: Measure your teapot before starting — adjust the cast-on by adding or removing stitches in multiples of 6 for a wider or narrower fit.
