Step-by-step instructions
1. Cast on
- 1Cast on 132 stitches using 4mm needles. This will give you a cowl about 60cm around.
2. Work the rib
- 1Row 1: *k2, p2* to end.
- 2Repeat row 1 for every row until the piece measures 25cm, or your desired height.
3. Cast off and seam
- 1Cast off in rib (knit the knits and purl the purls as you cast off, so the edge stays stretchy).
- 2Sew the cast-on edge to the cast-off edge to form a loop. Weave in ends.
Top tip: Casting off in rib keeps the top edge as stretchy as the rest — if you cast off normally it may feel tight around the neck.
