Step-by-step instructions
1. Yoke
- 1Cast on 80 stitches with 3.25mm needles. Work 6 rows of k1, p1 rib.
- 2Change to 4mm needles. Place markers: 12 (front), 1 (marker), 14 (sleeve), 1, 26 (back), 1, 14 (sleeve), 1, 12 (front).
- 3Increase row: *knit to 1 st before marker, kfb, slip marker, kfb* repeat 4 times, knit to end.
- 4Repeat increase row on every RS row. When front sections meet (about 12cm), join for working in the round or continue flat.
2. Body
- 1When the yoke is deep enough (about 22cm), put sleeve stitches on holders. Cast on 6 stitches at each underarm.
- 2Work the body in stocking stitch until it reaches your desired length (about 38cm from underarm). Work 6cm of k1, p1 rib on 3.25mm needles. Cast off in rib.
3. Sleeves
- 1Pick up held sleeve stitches plus underarm stitches. Work in stocking stitch, decreasing 2 stitches every 8th row until the sleeve is the right length.
- 2Work 6cm of k1, p1 rib on 3.25mm needles. Cast off in rib.
4. Finish
- 1Weave in all ends. Block the jumper by soaking and laying flat to dry.
Top tip: Try the yoke on before separating the sleeves — it is much easier to adjust at this stage than to rip back later.
