Step-by-step instructions

1. Knit the front and back (make 2)

  1. 1Cast on 36 stitches with 5mm needles.
  2. 2Work in k2, p2 rib for 36cm (or until it matches the length of your bottle minus the neck).

2. Shape the top

  1. 1Decrease: *k2, k2tog* to end on next RS row. Continue decreasing every other row until 9 stitches remain.
  2. 2Cast off.

3. Assemble

  1. 1Sew the two pieces together around sides and bottom, leaving the top open.
  2. 2Add a button-and-loop fastening at the top if you like, or leave it open for easy filling. Weave in all ends.

Top tip: Pop the cover in the wash regularly — choose a machine-washable Aran yarn for easy care.
