Step-by-step instructions
1. Make the squares (make 30)
- 1Chain 4, join with sl st.
- 2Round 1: ch3, 2tr into ring, *ch2, 3tr into ring* three times, ch2, join with sl st.
- 3Round 2: sl st to corner sp, (3tr, ch2, 3tr) in each corner, ch1 between clusters on each side. Join.
- 4Round 3: as round 2 with an extra 3tr cluster on each side. Continue until each square measures approx. 24cm.
- 5Make 30 squares total, mixing colours as you wish.
2. Join the squares
- 1Lay out the squares in a 5 x 6 grid. Join using dc through both layers, or whip stitch for an invisible seam.
3. Border
- 1Work 2-3 rounds of dc around the entire blanket edge, working 3dc into each corner. Fasten off. Weave in all ends.
Top tip: Use a consistent border colour on the final round of each square — it ties all the colours together beautifully.
