Step-by-step instructions

1. Cast on and rib (make 2)

  1. 1Cast on 40 stitches with 4mm needles.
  2. 2Work in k2, p2 rib for 6cm to form the wrist cuff.

2. Knit the hand

  1. 1Change to stocking stitch and work straight for 4cm.
  2. 2On the next RS row, create a thumb opening: k20, cast off 8, k to end.
  3. 3On the next row, purl to the gap, cast on 8 stitches over the gap, purl to end.
  4. 4Continue in stocking stitch for another 2cm.

3. Top rib and finish

  1. 1Work 4 rows of k2, p2 rib. Cast off in rib.
