What you'll need

  • 1 x 100g ball of soft DK yarn in white, grey or pastel
  • Small amount of pink for inner ears and nose
  • A 3.5mm (UK 9 / US E-4) crochet hook
  • Toy stuffing
  • Safety eyes (8mm)
  • A wool/darning needle

Step-by-step instructions

1. Head and body

  1. 1Head: 6dc in magic ring. Increase to 36 stitches over 6 rounds. Work straight for 6 rounds. Decrease back to 6, stuffing as you go. Attach safety eyes.
  2. 2Body: 6dc in magic ring. Increase to 30 stitches. Work straight for 10 rounds. Decrease to 6 and close. Stuff firmly.

2. Ears, arms and legs

  1. 1Ears (make 2): ch12, dc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch. Work 3 more rows. Shape by decreasing at each end on the last row.
  2. 2Arms (make 2): 6dc in magic ring, increase to 10. Work straight for 12 rounds. Stuff lightly.
  3. 3Legs (make 2): 6dc in magic ring, increase to 14. Work straight for 8 rounds. Stuff.

3. Assemble

  1. 1Sew the head to the body. Attach ears, arms and legs. Embroider a nose in pink yarn.
  2. 2Add a small pom-pom tail at the back. Weave in all ends.

Top tip: For floppy ears, do not stuff them — they will naturally drape down for a cute look.
