Granny Stitch Triangle Shawl
A gorgeous triangle shawl using the granny stitch pattern. Start small at one point and grow it as big as you like.

What you'll need
- 4 x 100g balls of DK yarn (one colour or gradient set)
- A 4.5mm (UK 7 / US 7) crochet hook
- A wool/darning needle

Step-by-step instructions
1. Start at the point
- 1Chain 4, join with sl st to form a ring.
- 2Row 1: ch3 (counts as tr), 2tr into ring, ch2, 3tr into ring. Turn.
2. Grow the triangle
- 1Row 2: ch3, 3tr in first sp, (3tr, ch2, 3tr) in corner ch2 sp, 3tr in last sp, 1tr in top of turning ch. Turn.
- 2Each row adds one more granny cluster on each side and works (3tr, ch2, 3tr) in the corner space.
- 3Continue until the shawl reaches your desired size.
3. Border and finish
- 1Work 1 row of dc evenly around the entire edge. Fasten off.
- 2Weave in all ends. Block by pinning out damp on a flat surface.
Top tip: This is a brilliant travel project — you can work on it anywhere and stop whenever it is big enough.
