What you'll need

  • 1 x 100g ball of chunky yarn
  • An 8mm (UK 0 / US L-11) crochet hook
  • A wool/darning needle

Step-by-step instructions

1. Foundation

  1. 1Chain 50 and join with sl st to form a ring (careful not to twist).

2. Work in rounds

  1. 1Ch1, dc in each st around, join with sl st. Repeat for every round.
  2. 2Continue until the cowl measures 25cm tall.

3. Finish

  1. 1Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Top tip: For extra warmth, work this cowl tall enough to fold over — a double-layer cowl is gorgeously snug.
