Chunky Moss-Stitch Cowl
A thick, squishy cowl in chunky yarn that knits up in a single evening. Moss stitch gives gorgeous texture.

What you'll need
- 2 x 100g balls of chunky yarn
- A pair of 6.5mm (UK 3 / US 10.5) knitting needles
- A wool/darning needle
Tension: 14 stitches and 20 rows to 10cm in moss stitch on 6.5mm needles.

Step-by-step instructions
1. Cast on
- 1Cast on 91 stitches (odd number) with 6.5mm needles.
2. Work moss stitch
- 1Row 1: *k1, p1* to last stitch, k1.
- 2Row 2: *p1, k1* to last stitch, p1.
- 3Repeat rows 1-2 until piece measures 30cm.
3. Cast off and seam
- 1Cast off loosely. Sew the short ends together to form a loop. Weave in all ends.
Top tip: Moss stitch uses a tiny bit more yarn than stocking stitch, so keep an eye on your second ball towards the end.
